Hello From Ali & 'Marley'
Posted: April 11th 2012
Well Hi There!.. Chris is busy working on some amazing new client service and patient care programs, so I am filling in for him this month....
In my near twelve years working with you all, I am still amazed at how incredible your pets are. Each has their own unique personality and traits, from the bouncy young puppies and kittens all the way through to the young at heart golden oldies.... We love them all.
As an owner of a recent inductee to the 'golden oldies' I can totally appreciate the new level of 'pet parenting' involved. I'm not sure if maybe it's just me, but I have become more overprotective of my 'Marley' boy now then I ever was before. I catch myself over-analysing a small skip in-between steps, the reluctance in jumping up and the change in the 'full of life' behaviour he had as a pup (ask my husband, it drives him crazy). Just because he's getting older, doesn't mean we can't still have fun! Every six months 'Marley' has his full head-to-tail health check, including a blood screen once a year to see what's happening inside! His vet has helped us manage his arthritis so he still chases his sister around the backyard, and, as a dog who loves his treats, by adjusting these (and his diet too) his teeth are kept clean, his coat stays shiny and his poops are still regular.
I know there are many things available to improve the health and happiness of my beautiful golden oldie, but the thought of him getting older still terrifies me, (and to be honest sometimes a little emotional knowing the inevitable of pet ownership). But, even though my boy is getting older, he still makes me laugh every single day and his companionship and friendship always warms my heart! So lets raise our glasses to all the golden oldies in our lives and celebrate the many more years we have ahead....
You can check out photos of my handsome boy here on Facebook
Until next time,
Peace, Grace and Love
